Mysterious food deliveries are showing up in a Highland Park neighborhood, with residents receiving lattes, burgers and other food they never ordered or paid for.The neighborhood is no stranger to the phenomenon, however, having been bombarded with random deliveries back in March before a slight pause. Now residents say the unsolicited deliveries are showing up at their doorsteps once again. Oftentimes, the names on the orders don't match anyone at the residence. Some recipients don't even have Uber Eats accounts.“It’s five McDonald's orders, one a day, with a little kids-sized milk in them,” said Richie Kulchar of the deliveries he’s been receiving.Kulchar lives on Avenue 50 where food orders are coming in daily for him. His home security camera captured drivers delivering to his home every day last week, with orders being dropped throughout all hours of the day.Mysterious Uber Eats deliveries continue bombarding a Highland Park neighborhood, with residents receiving food they never...Ventura man gets 30 years to life for child molestation

By Kaitlan Collins, Paula Reid, Sara Murray, Jeremy Herb and Kristen Holmes | CNNThe Justice Department recently informed Donald Trump’s legal team that he is a target in a federal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified documents, sources familiar with the matter told CNN, a sign that prosecutors may be moving closer to indicting the former president. The sources have been informed of the target letter and its contents but had not seen it themselves.Prosecutors’ decision to inform Trump he’s a target crystallizes that special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation is focused on Trump’s actions and not just the actions of people around him.Trump’s legal team met with DOJ officials, including Smith, about the investigation on Monday. The meeting focused on the Trump legal team presenting their allegations of misconduct by prosecutors. Smith did not say anything beyond greeting those in the room in the meeting, that source said.Justice Department regulations allow for pro...Map: East Coast air now worse than Bay Area’s during 2020 wildfires

Hey New York City, we get it. Yo, Trenton and Philly, we’ve been there. Your smoke-choked skylines fueled by more than 100 wildfires raging in Canada are so familiar to us here in the Bay Area.We know what it’s like to wake up to ash on the windshield and a hazy, suffocatingly smoky, orange sky that could pass for a Martian sunrise. During the summer of 2020, surrounded by massive blazes, the Bay Area suffered through some of the worst air quality on the planet. But the hazardous air quality readings rolling in from the East Coast this week are even more dangerous. In honor of the east coast being choked in wildfire smoke, here is a video clip I filmed on the day the sun didn’t come out in the Bay Area. pic.twitter.com/AzZsUYaJHq— Max Dubler (@maxdubler) June 7, 2023Lucky for Bay Area residents, a ridge of high pressure arching down the United States from North Dakota to Texas will likely block the smoke before it gets to us.“It’s not looking like it’s going ...Letters: Bail out BART | Ethnic studies | Ceiling on age | Legal route | Catholic outrage

Somehow, the idea of a Sacramento bailout of BART smacks of “financial irresponsibility and political arrogance.”We in the United States have subsidized automobile use in so many ways, it boggles the mind: from federal highway subsidies to local government road programs, we have effectively granted untold billions in “bailout” money to our car-based industries: automakers, the oil industry, etc. The net is that the cost of owning and driving a car in the United States is artificially low. Many Western European countries have vibrant and healthy transit systems, and government funding is part of their success. Yet Borenstein would rather cut service and close stations, rather th...San Jose: Man suffers life-threatening injury in shooting
